Question 3 year VX Warranty !?

A guy that has called about buying my car has told me that a dealer told him that VX are offering 3 year warranties on new and used VX cars as standard

Has anyone else heard this? I was under the impression the standard manufacturers warranty is 12 months?

    Any feedback welcomed please

your new Veccy has a standard 3 year warranty, as does the silver one..

cover decreases over the 3 years ( they will only do trim and paint in the first year) but it is still quite good.

2nd hand cars bought networkQ get a full 12 months all inclusive warranty..all they don't cover is the tyres.. They then offer to extend it by another 12 months afterwards..

It is possible to just phone up and buy a netQ policy, but when duncan did it it was about £550ish IIRC..

I had £480 worth of work done in year 3 of the standard Vauxhall warranty. I was the second keeper and my Network Q policy had lapsed. The work done was new boot struts due to leaking and a new central door locking motor for one of the rear doors.

The work I had done just before the third year of warranty ran out was quite a shock!

I'm a bit confused about this warranty business myself. So you get a 3 year warranty......so sorry for being thick but why would you want to take out an additional network Q warranty???? !!!

And what is covered in each year of the 3 year warranty?

Yep, it's cheaper if you do it before the Vx warranty runs out. To get a Network Q warranty cover for a year (after my Vx warranty ran out) cost me £489 for my engine size. I was able to take this out even though my initial Network Q warranty that came with the car had expired. If I'd let the Vx warranty expire before taking it out, it'd have cost me another £100!!

I've just used it for the replacement of a multi-V tensioner. I had to pay for the belt (£6-7) and Network Q covered the labour and tensioner - £140 odd!

You can pay a small fee (can't recall how much exactly) and extend the Network Q warranty that came with the car to the point where the Vx warranty runs out. Advantage of that is that it will cover some things that the Vx warranty won't - like brake pads etc.

Year 1 covers paint and trims, but not years 2 and 3. All three cover the usual major, and minor, stuff - just not any wearing parts.

More info pls, could this be the reason that I have water in my boot wheel well? The water is coming from higher up. Have had the lights out but still no sign of the leak.
