    Default Members Reviews on Tyres

So many posts asking what tyres to get etc so I thought I would see if we can get a ball rolling with members reviews on their experiences with different tyres.

    So,

Dunlop SportMaxx On my second set of these on the front. Very good wear rate, have done about 20k per set but I am not a hard driver. Wet grip seems excellent, dry is just the same and very little road noise. Would get another set so long as I have the funds at the time! Got my 225/45 R17's for about £100 each fully fitted and balanced.

I had the eagle nct5 but fitted the new eagle f1 asymmetric 2's about a 1000 miles ago. The new f1's are in a diff league compared to the nct's. Fantastic grip in wet and even better when dry. With telford being land of roundabouts and bendy b roads I have had plenty of chance to test em lol. As far as road noise goes I cant really tell a difference but I went from the 205/55/17 to 225/45/17. Cant comment on tyre wear yet but as my dad is a goodyear employee I am told they should be better than there others due to the diff compound and thread pattern etc.

    I went from NCT's 215/50/17 to Kumho KH31 225/45 R17 W (91)

I do feel more planted on the road but as my Vec is an Sri which already felt the bumps a bit, it now is a more of a harsh ride due to the lower profile and can be a bit of a pain for the rear passengers on long journeys.

That said the wear is fantastic. I have covered just over 10,000 miles and im still on 6.5 mm of tread. Mostly motorways but some A and B roads with a bit of town driving thrown in.

Road noise is slightly less than the NCT's. The grip in the wet is pretty good and feels me with confidence unlike the NCT's did. I have also driven in the snow with these and I have to say I wasn't expecting the level of grip I got. A nice suprise.

All in all I have no compalints about them. They cost me 73 quid a corner including delivery, VAT, fitting and balancing.

I would certainly buy these again.
