Paint codes

Im getting some magnetic signs made and requested the background colour of the magnet matches the vehicle colour as best as possible, to do this they have requested a pantone colour reference, where could I find this?

Open the drivers door and there is a plaque with the axle weights and paint code mate.

Mine would be Z2AU for instance.

Thanks, I also googled pantone and entered a vehicle colour code into their search and it returned no results so I guess they have their own code system, how annoying!

Yea, looks like they use a different system mate. Is it an aerosol your looking for? Have you looked at Paints4u?

not sure they just requested a pantone reference hmmm I can get an iphone app for £10 which I believe will get the code from a photo and I have the option to take the vehicle down there, why is it never simple!

Pantone relates to a "printed" colour, as per magazines etc. Just about any printer worth their salt will use Pantone for colour matching, etc. Totally different from the vx car paint codes, you'd be as well asking them for a pantone swatch, nip outside and get the best colour that way mate.
