    Default dashboard blanks.

whilst playing with the new car, i took the chance to look behind the blanks and i have the blue plug for the tc, i have white plugs behind where the heated seat switches go. do you think they would be wired up to work or just to light up if i get the switces, what would i need ie, seat heater mats and do you think its worth it with a cloth seat. there wasnt any plugs behind the park assist switch or the one under the tc switch

Be careful though - most cars from early 2004 onwards have a cut down wiring loom that doesn't have all the wires for the extra features.

You tend to get the full wiring behind the dash, but nothing else. i.e. there's no wires going through the car for things like auto-dim mirror, rear electric windows or heated seats.

You can check easily by carefully putting your fingers under the seat connector to the body wiring loom (directly below each seat, just sticking out the carpet) and see how many wires go into the car side. If there's only two (side airbag and seatbelt pre-tensioner) then you don't have the wiring for the heated seats, even if the wires and plugs are behind the dash.

Vauxhall quoted me about £300 or so for a full body wiring loom with the extra wires for the all gubbins like this that feature on the higher models. Plus, you'd have to strip most of the interior to replace the body wiring loom, not much fun in that I expect!!
Even if you did do that, there's a good chance the canbus won't recognise the extra wires and you may have problems getting it re-programmed to do it, it's all unproven ground...
