A remap is essentially re-programming the chip in your car to alter the fuelling etc to get more bhp, a decat is replacing the catalytic converter in your exhaust system with a straight through pipe, again more bhp. You can decat yourself if you know what you're doing, takes bout an hour (take cat off and bash innards with a hammer and chisel) Remap - £300 ish dependant on what you get, Decat probably £50 if you get a gd deal.

Decating won't make you more power or torque on the 1.9CDTI, don't waste your time and money. Just remap it or buy a CRD-T and leave it there. If you want to see any more significant gains, the price is going to start climbing steeply.

CRD-T all the way+airbox mod+ panel filter(k&n)= BIG GRIN FACTOR!

Neither will add BHP, The turbo can produce alot more air than the maps will allow, so increasing exhaust gas flow will have no effect on boost pressure and replacing a cat with a straight through pipe could decrease exhaust gas speeds, with associated temp and pressure increases.
