Is saab 9-3 and vectra parts the same.

Hi. A friend of mine has bought a salvage damaged saab 9-3 convertible. 2008 model 1.9 diesel.

He needs 1 chassis leg, sub frame and a rad, intercooler, ac rad and 2 fans.

Am i right in thinking these are same as that on a vectra c facelift 1.9 cdti?

I spoke to Saab about this a while ago and unfortunately for you the Convertable has a different chassis than the standard 93, the hardtops are the virtually the same though if that helps....

Not sure matey, sorry, there are quite a few good Saab forums that may be able to help though, Most, if not all of the running gear and ancillaries are the same though...

There are plenty of Saab breakers, Neo Borthers for one are simply amazing, I would not cross the usage boundary without checking metculously first however it is OK with 3rd party items such as calipers, shockers, bushes etc but crossmembers especially on the 'vert do a vastly different job.

The 9-3 convertible is a different chassis, they are not built by saab in Sweden as such but made for them by Magna Steyr in Austria. The majority of the running gear however and engine bay components will be the same as the hardtop models..

As above though, speak to a saab breakers about the compatible parts, get the numbers as they are normally the same as the vec numbers if they are the same.. In practise though I have found buying saab sourced parts for my car to be cheaper as the vx dealers/sellers overprice vx parts due to demand.

Neo Bros have just about every part, having seen their operation and watched cars being broken for spares in their workshop they do seem to have just about everything sitting on the shelf..

The Air-Con Condenser is different

Doesn't list the Intercooler or AC fans.
