    Default need help with pully

    is this the tensioner pully or another pully pics not good but its the best i can get , yello bit is the air box and the red arrows is the pully and the bolt (aa had to cut the belt off) SIDE VIEW PIC 2.0DTI

    could it be the crankshaft pully? been reading about them on here, does any body have a diagram of the setup of the belt and pullys so i know, going to have to order new parts

    Looks like one of the tensioner bolts has snapped mate

    ****, john that dont sound good because how the hell is the other part of the bolt going to come out?

    just been out to have a look and a fiddle the bolt will come out but wont come out fully because there aint enought room to get it out if that makes sence its hitting the side, im going to have it towed to a garage, does anybody know what that pully is? is it defo the tensioner pully?

    the belt dont look old i wonder if before i had the car they changed the belt and didnt tighten the bolt right? been about 18 months since ive had car

    That looks like like what happened to mine,yes its the pulley braket bolt that loks to have come loose ..OR sheared off as mine was...

    READ THIS THREAD FOR A FIX.. Any questions just ask.

    cheers mate just read your post, it does seem the same prob but the head is still on mine its either come loose or its snapped half way, i hope to god it aint snapped, i dont think ill do this my self ill get a garage to do it

    is this a common prob then?

    do i need to buy any new parts like new pullys? tbh ill defo get new bolts

    If it's like mine mate,it shears off about half way into the engine block,you cant remove the bolt without removing the actual bracket that hold the pulley to the engine block,the pulley has to come off and its a pain to get to.
    What happened with mine was that the hydraulic piston on the tensioner wasn't opperating they need to be manually primed before fitting ,using large pump pliers.
    Difficult job,but can DIY if your good with spanners.
    You'll need a new bolt which is £12 quid from dealers.

    ohh so i bet its broken inside then, so will i need need tensioner pully? father-in-laws mates a machanic so ill ask him to take a look, if i went to a garage how much would you say they would charge?
