Angry Engine management after airbox removal.

Removed my airbox and unplugged my air flow sensor. When i plug it back in and connected my airbox bag together the engine management light came on. Disconnected the battery for 45 mins and i still have the light on. I took the car for a drive and its driving as normal. No loss of power etc. Is this looking like a new air flow sensor? any tips on where i could have gone wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

    Default

No need to disconnect the battery
Just remove the ignition key and then wait 2 hours

If you disconnect the MAF the engine goes into safe mode
When you reconnect the MAF the fault code becomes stored (for 12 starts)
After 2 hours the fault code becomes disabled

The light comes on when you forget to plug the maf back in and start the engine. If you did this then the car will be fine to drive and the code will eventually go. If the light stays on all the time then you may well have damaged the MAF. Make sure you have plugged it in fully so that the clip activates
