i friend of mine has broke he window and needs to replace it..

Easy mate , just strip the door panel as per the instructions in thread.
Then in the part of the mechanism that slides up and down in the door you need to retrieve the white round plastic plug . ( this may have fallen inside the door bottom . )
Remove the corner section and undo the bolts and remove the bar/channel which the glass runs inside , this gives room to slide the new window in .
If the replacement window has got the plastic clip already in the bottom , then happy days , it simply clicks into place ( make sure the mechanism is at the lowest point when it clicks in , and then refit the corner piece and runner bar.)
If the window has not got the clip , you need to split the old one into two pieces with a screwdriver , then carefully put a side each on either side of the hole on the window and click it together , ( this must be done before the window goes in the door )
Be sure to get the glass from the rubbers first , and hoover the bottom of the door out .

TBH mate, i've done a few of these now and the easiest way i've found is to take out the seal that is inside the runners. It just seems to alleviate some of the pressure on the glass as you're trying to put it in. Where in West Yorks are you?

im in ponty but he's in leigh.

i need to know for myself anyway cos im going to tint the rear windows and im sure they have to come out to be tinted, or at least the rubber seals taken off to get right into the corners

Yeah man. When i tinted mine i took the glass out. I'm 99.9% certain that the tint film will get scratched it you try to put them back in with the rubbers in place.
P.S. the white plastic cap is a nightmare.
