hi all , just joined resently bought a vectra 2.2 dti 2003 and when driving at ANY speed the car is constantly smoking (black) if anybody has any ideas please let me know , many thanks guys ,Andy.

get it serviced mate and put a cleaning additive in your fuel

black smoke usualy indicates too much unburnt diesel.

any fault codes?

just had full service done pal been told about egr valves and diesel pump gone but didnt want to start trial and error till i had some more advice will try some additive today thanks ! is there any meets happening next month ?

Check your intercooler vacuum pipes for splits and cracks mate. This is the most common cause for limp home mode and black smoke mate.

nothing comin up on dash not took it into vauxhall yet was thinkin about doin that next tuesday put it on there computer !!!

Yeah mate I changed all of mine with blue silicone ones that you can get from the bay of E. Nice cheap fix and it looks smart too.

Don't do that mate. Phone the Auto electrician for computer diagnosis. £30 for mine when i can't find a member to help out. If there's nothing on the dash i'd say no faults would be found.
