Default Not really sure if I was proud to be British yesturday...

I believe in a fair society, and I am proud to be British. I believe the the values of democracy and equal opportunities are good ones.

Yesturday, I thought it was great that a country could come together like that to celebrate something and think that most other countries would have a lot more problems with terrorists etc... I was proud something like that could be pulled off.

However I can't help but think it is wrong. Surely we are all human and all equal at birth? Just because they were born to the right family, we have to pay for them for the rest of their lives? It is sick. Sick that so many hard working people are struggling, but they live a life of privilege.

If they or their family had earned it then I could make peace with that, but to have wealth by birth right is just wrong. There are thousands of people who do more for the country, in the army, volunteering etc, why don't they get any credit? Are we not trying to overturn such unelected leaders and representatives in Libya etc?

I wish Will and Cath the very best of luck and send my congratulations, as I do for any newly weds.

I think if we want a royal family, do it like a lottery, people are picked at random to do it for a year or something. Or they are voted for by the people as most deserving. Not by birth right.

Were others proud yesterday, or ashamed?

We were all invited, which is why it was made a holiday! Speak to your boss about not getting the day off!! Just they could not physically fit 60 million people into Westminster Abbey!

I was proud, 2 billion people watching worldwide?!!

and the 57 unauthorised extensions over 100 years ...

and the fence means the council ride on lawn mower can't get in .

so if the garden get's messy and over grown they will be served with a council warning letter and maybe eviction ...

Geordie voice over bloke Marcus bentley ....

" the Royal Family Of Winsor ,, you have been evicted from the Big Bucker ( Buckingham ) House "
" Please leave the Big Bucker House "

note to her Maj ........... have you got council planning permission for all those flags on your roof ??

the flags may be offending other mixed groups who have entered our country on the back of an Easy Jet wheel ........... or someone who has cellotaped themselves to the bottom of an Eddie S. lorry !!!

Ahhh.... so the solution to all our problems is to scrap the royal family.... and in doing so, do you honestly believe that anything would change for the better..???... you would simply find something else to complain about.

...and if you think voting some random person into the job of King or Queen for a year would work then you only have to look at the debacle of a political voting system we have, to see just how that's going to turn out.

The Royal Family costs the taxpayer approx £40m/year ... considering this country currently costs £1000,000M (1 Trillion) to run for one year I don't see where the saving is.... besides... the Crown Estates income goes to the government and is more than the cost of the Royal Family.

I'm not a staunch Royalist but I do believe that they do more for this country than we ever see in the press.... and in the context of cost I don't see any benefit from getting rid.

Wingz , you need a Lotto win , double rollover maybe to get out of the United Kingdom .

but then the discussion will be about how you used the British paying publics money ( the lotto £ 1's for the lotto tickets ) to ditch their British country ...

    you can't win ...... l.o.l.

but at least 20 p , i think goes to charity and 5 p to each shop keeper from each single pound ticket helps the country keep going ...
