Default How do I change the carpet?

How easy is it to change the carpet on a signum?

I bought a travel assistant from a friend (As he never uses it) thinking I could get the the fitting kit but its now not available.

My mate has said I can have his fitting kit but I would need to swap carpets too so he isnt left with a hole.

I would think you're looking at what amounts to a full interior strip out (seats, footwell trim, lower B pillar trim, centre consoles out), less roof lining, dash and door cards.

    Quite a job.

    BUT....

On the positive side, it would give both vehicles the opportunity for a 100% interior clean out, tidy up and general spring clean.

    Default

    Centre Console (according to Haynes)

    Front seats out.

Pop Trim strip off over glovebox.

Lift out ashtray and remove trim around socket. Unplug socket.

    Unclip gearstick gaiter.

Undo 2 screws - 1 under lower middle of each fascia vent.

Undo 1 screw - rear left of centre console (front left of gearstick area)

Remove caps either side of console - would be by passenger's right hip and driver's left hip. Undo revealed nut & screw.

Lift console and slide to rear. Remove from car.

    Rear console:

Prise out and power socket panel. Disconnect & remove.

Undo 2 screws securing console to floor.

Undo 4 bolts (2 either side) above just removed screws. Remove armrest and vent housing.

    Pop out cupholder/tray by handbrake.

Undo screw now revealed at front.

Slide console to rear. Lift over handbrake and remove.

On completion, go buy Haynes manual so I have to type far less !

Carpet and seats (Apart from the drivers) are now out.

Only pain is I have to go round a mates house to swap carpets which will put the airbag light on.

Will just have to reset it with my code reader when I get back from swapping carpets.

    Thanks again for the pointers.
