iv heard all about the swirl flap problem on the cdti but never knew exactly what went wrong...... well this vid explains it a bit..

Seriously though, I need to really get hold of a failed unit and see if I can design a repair kit for it

thats why i posted the vid!.... iv never seen the swirl valves before and i dont thing many other have either..


it would be good if you could come up with a fix derek to save people money.

My valves are fine, the solenoid failed internally though. Nothing you can do about that, it's just a crappy part from VX.

Has he modded the rod & connectors (they look different to me)??

best way to sort it is just blank the egr valve off problem sorted
