Does a 05 1.9CDTi SRi have pad warning sensor's?
I only ask as the wife's vec went in for a service and an advisory was the near side sensor had been ripped off.
I was un aware of any brake pad sensor on this car.

not 100% sure but i have a 54 plate and i know mine has one
prefacelifts have them, facelifts dont as I found out the other day....
Think the rule is something to do with if you have a black or grey connector plug which the abs plugs into underneath the wheel arch...
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services
Are the front's and rears connected? Or do they only have them on the front?
VX said the rear pad wear is 90%, but no warning light has come up. Vauxhall gave me a real good quote of £110 for rear pads fitted... So good of them.
the sensor is only on the front nearside & as said facelift don't have one
Ah ok, I might have to look into it. Cheers guys.
If the sensor has been "ripped off" then you'd have a pad warning light on. Sounds like your dealer is "at it"
Sorry, missed that bit
It's not that difficult to refit and during a service with the wheels off is even easier
However, the sensor will not report brake pads worn if simply removed, the contacts need to be worn through and no longer in contact
Sounds like a previous owner might have got fed up replacing them, ripped it out, then shorted it, and tied it up out of the way
Well, TBH do I really need the sensor? I have managed for 11 Years of driving without one and have always managed to work out when the pads new changing. I may take the wheel off, just for an excuse to play with the car for an hour or so.
