Question Vectra C Hatchback - Dogcage

    Hi guys,

We are looking for a solution, to transport our dog in a safe way. There are actually a lot of ways to do that, but we prefer to have a cage in the trunk.
But the problem is that we can't find a cage that will fit our trunk.
Another solution is to guard the space in the trunk with some kind of fence, so the dog can't be trown into the passengers space. But it also seems to be a problem to find a SOLID model that fits the car.

Does anyone have a safe solution to transport a dog in the trunk of his vectra hatchback (2006 model)?

We are talking about a grownup Labrador Retriever dog

    Thx for your help!

    Have you seen these?

They attach to the head rest legs.

    Thanks for the link!

I have found a couple of those solutions, but I'm just not sure about how safe and stable they are. Most of those fittings to the head rest legst, don't look very qualitative.

other methHow often do you need it in? I can get a 3ft cage in sideways, with the back seat down. Just needs to be far enough forwards to clear the slope of the hatch.
Alternatively, you could get one of the washable covers that suspend from the headrests, like a hammock, with velcro slits to clip a harness to the seat beeelts. We have both.

    Why not fabrciate your own?

2x leg supports and a beam connecting the two making the letter H and between the top parts weld in wire mesh the heavy duty type and make some fittings for the floor, Either use the seat belt anchorage bolts or drill some more.

When done have this powder coated or chromed and have this made by a fabrication shop or if your handy you do it.

It's not rocket science and after all you may like it enough to market it to sell a few more.!!
