Default Productive week off, sorted niggles with the car :-)

Well been off since last thursday and dont go back till next tuesday so decided to get my finger out and get some minor niggles sorted on the beast rather than sit on my bum and watch this morning.

Fitted a K&N panel filter, i do this on all cars i buy but up until now hadnt seen anything noticeable. It adds a slight bit more sharpness when you touch the accelarator pulling away etc.

Was having a niggle with a slight scraping noise from my brakes when they are heated up and turning corners, so i jacked the car up and levered the backing plates away from the bottom of the disk and this was the cause. Now all quiet

Almost completly got rid of various dash creaks and noises from dodgy road surfaces by using felt adhesive tape from ebay. This is really good stuff about £5 for 2 metres.

And finaly tightened up the bonnet cable as the catch had a lot of play in it at the handle so its all nice and tight. Thanks to the how 2 on here

Time to put my feet back up

First one was a creak coming from the glovebox area and i traced it to the bottom corner on the left where the glovebox lid meets the fusebox cover, they were ever so slightly chaffing together. I had the cover on and off and couldnt get it to fit any better, if it chaffs through the felt strip ill shave a couple of mm's off the cover.

The other was behind the silver dash strip that runs along the dash so i cut up and stuck on to various bits underneath it which has improved it and gave it a snugger fit. When i bought the car i wanted a centre vent replaced as it was broken so i think taking the dash strip off had loosen it so thats where it all started i reckon.
