    Default Loosing power.

    Hi,

I have a 1.9CDTi 05 plate saloon, over the last week I have been having an intermittent problem with the power dying whilst driving.
When driving along the car seems to just loose power when in sixth gear and when I change down it does not pick up straight away but seems to keep dying.
It feels like the car is running but the turbo is not engaging as it should, as you can then feel the turbo kick in. I have also had a problem where the car is very sluggish pulling off from a standing start, I put this down to the diesel I put in at a supermarket garage as I could not get Esso diesel when I needed it.
These problems seem to have arisen since this diesel has been put in, could this be the problem or could it be something else?

As above with the airflow meter could also be your boost sensor needing a clean

    Thanks for the responses.

What do I need to do to carry out your suggestions?

Where is the airflow meter, how do I check it?

How do I clean the boost sensor, would something like Forte do this or does the sensor need to be removed to clean it?

Your airflow meter is inbetween the airbox and your turbo , your boost sensor can be found by lifting off your engine cover and at the rear of the engine on the right just above your egr valve

    Thanks all for your help.

With reference to the airflow meter, what do I need to do to it? Clean it or replace it?

As you say it occured with the supermarket diesel, why not get the fuel filter changed and use diferent diesel?

MAF sensors are delicate and imho I doubt that's the cause on the basis of what you have said regarding the diesel you have put in.
