Default Engine oil recommendation for Z20NET

    Morning all,

Looking at doing an oil and filter change this weekend before my remap next Tuesday, which oil do you use on you Z20NET?

    Thanks

Should be 5w30 but if you've got a lot of miles on it use 10w40 depends on the car and how used it is really.

Its done 68k fully service and I will be using it around 1-1.5k per month.
Its really to freshen it up as an interim between services as it had sat for 3 months prior to me buying it and with the remap next week I would prefer it freshly lubed

I'd stick with the 5w30 given what you've said. 5l from Vx with your Trade Club discount brings it down from over £45 to about £20.

    Crikey thats a discount!
So I just roll into any Vx dealer and say I'm in the vectra-c club and get the discount?
    Thanks

Not quite. You need to have the membership photo card with the Trade Club details on the back. You need to send in a photo to get the card - all explained in the Full Members section. Once you have the card you simply do this.

Just as a note, whilst 5W30 is the only oil I would consider for the Z20NET as recommended, they leave the factory with 0W30, of which at the first oil change is changed for the 5W30 LongLife oil.

Fully Synthetic oil in a Turbo is a must in my opinion.

Buy the oil, a new washer for the sump plug and a filter cartridge and make sure you have a 32mm socket (from memory) to undo the top of the filter housing and do it yourself
