iPad help

I've just bought a 3 month old iPad 32gb of my friend for £50.....bargain eh.......my problem is when I'm out and about I can't connect to any bt open zones or btfon sites.....on the network tab it says I'm connected, but when I try to join a bt zone it says I can't connect, even tho I can connect with my phone or my notebook, just can't do it with iPad....anybody know the fix.....it's the iPad 1 .....not ipad2.

Im pretty sure that allthough you can connect to a BT Openzone you still need a username & password to use it.

indeed there is a btfone app that allows you to utilise your homehub access providing you have subscribed ... then after the first time that you use its and connect to one ...every time after that it will self connect

I have the btfon app, still doesn't work, my ISP is with btinternet, it gives me my home broadband and 10,000 free wifi minutes per month, I have been using btfon since it started few years back, When I'm out and about I can connect with my notebook but NOT with my iPad.

No wonder my pal sold me his ipad....... might just sell it on if its no good for the bt fon hotspots.....
