    Default vibration at idle

    Hi all,

I'm getting a vibration, when the car is at idle, just for a few seconds, then it clears. It only happens when the car is warm.
One time I got a engine light, when i got home i did the brake pedal, accelerator pedal test and I got an misfire on cylinder 6.

I've got it booked in my local garage tomorrow, any idea what the cause maybe??

Where is this vibration in the vehicle?

I had a very slight vibration that could be felt in both of the front seats
Turned out it was the first signs of the failed DMF

Yeah though the seats, pedals floor,

Not a massive vibration, just noticeable.
The DMF has already been done , under warranty about 20,000 miles back, the car has just clocked up 70,000.

As the car is under warranty get it in, NOW
Vibrations like this are a nightmare to trace, but it sounds like the engine is the likely cause

I didn't get a vibration anywhere else, just through the front seats
Placed both hands between knees and it could be felt

Others have reported as the DMF nears the end of its life it then starts to transmit a vibration through the pedals
Mine just took the clutch with it instead

What are the gear changes like?
I reported, on numerous occasions, an inability to apply power on down changes, but they could never recreate it (and this went on for nearly two years)
However, towards the end it did it all the time, I demonstrated it to the Service Manager and he booked it in, but the clutch went a few hours later!

The gear changes are fine, no problems there

The last time the DMF went , I had a metallic sound when using the clutch.
TBH , as its got a warranty wise warranty i hope it is the DMF as i can get the clutch done too.

But with the misfire fault, I am wondering.

When the DMF is replaced, the clutch MUST be replaced at the same time
Even if you have to pay for the clutch, well worth it
