    Default Climate control

Just got home from my night shift. As I got in the car I turned the dial to speed up the fan a little and it jumped from 2 to 7 with one click! It took me ages to get it slowed down. It was as thought the dial did not control the fan speed and it did what ever it fancied! 4 to 7, 7 to 1, 1 to 5 etc. Anyone else had this happen? It does not seem to matter how fast I turn the dial either

Sounds like a dodgy switch on the dial.

With CC you get overriden by the sensors, read the handbook and you will probably find you need to set something else before you get manual control over it, my Omega used to just blow on full at the screen when it sensed the screen was misted up. hth.

My Meriva's climate control does the same if the direction is set to windscreen.

Its got to have a new part..... ecu something, aparently its common........

I thought it should blow flat out when its in auto or on screen de-mist. Even if you set the direction to up it should still be controllable

I hope it's still under warranty... It's probably a 5 cent part that's failed but probably is only available as part of a $600 ECC control unit (translate that into your favourite currency...)

You're right; the wheel should always override the automatic settings, even on demist.

You just need to turn the large fan speed dial and that automatically gives you manual overide - no matter what mode it's in - demist etc.

As above, sounds like a dodgy dial.

My fan control dial did the same on my last car (jumps about at random and not in order when you turn the dial ... even decreasing the speed when turning it up and vice-versa in a random fashion) - they replaced the switch under warranty and it resolved the issue.

    HTH
