    Default Twin Turbo Diesel

Insignia Twin Turbo diesel will be launched in August ready for 2012MY production from September 2011.

The rumoured figures are 207bhp and 320lb/ft.

Got to try this when it comes out!

I thought they would have run it in the same state of tune as in the 9-5 (189 BHP)...?

Don't think so, I last heard the Insignia won't be facelifted until it is at least 3 1/2 to 4 years old.

Vectra b was 4 years old when it was facelifted.
Vectra c was 3 1/2 years old when it was facelifted

Early facelifts are usually because everyone's calling the car Ugly (like the bug-eyed Impreza) or poor sales, so not something the Insignia's afflicted with.

Is it still using the F40 gearbox, the 320lb-ft takes it a little over 400Nm. Very cheeky. Abut 434Nm.

Insignia was offered for just 3 weeks on the Vauxhall website in September 2009 with 190 BHP and 295lb/ft then deleted. The reason being is that when Vauxhall Opel engineers tested the car, they found there was not enough of a gap in performance over the 160 ps version to warrant the extra cost.

Saab have no right at present to the newer higher power version as they are no longe part of GM.

Apparently the long delay on the TT diesel is not only down to further engine development, but transmission development also. So I would assume GM have produced a stronger box to pass durability.
