Default 2 litre DTi EGR Removal

Can anyone tell me if it's easy or hard to remove the EGR valve on my DTi? I removed my old Fabia vRS' as i don't see the point in them and obviously wanna remove it from my DTi as i know they fail on diesel engines. My mates old 1.3 cdti corsa had 7 in a year! And it had only covered 22k when he got rid!

Anyone reccomend the right way to remove it? I'm seeing blanking plates on eBay but i don't know which one will fit my engine.

I'm not new to diesel engine tuning as my old vRS was running almost 200bhp!

    Thanks in advance

their dosent seem to be a way of blanking of the dti but im tryin to get an old 1 and take the roller out of it and weld the plunger closed failing that im going to make a semi blanking plate and fit it where the inlet manifold fits to the block

The DTi EGR is pretty reliable. You'd be hard pushed to find a thread on here about a DTi failure. It's the common rail diesels that seem to fail.

A good clean or a diesel decoke every so often always helps to!

Lol yeh the car drives fine, think it has a sticky EGR though so need to pull it off and clean it out. Car and spanner thing appears every now and then on the dash and the car seems to stutter as the turbo spools so feels like it's not opening?
