    Default Locking wheel nut removal

    Hey guys
Can anyone recommend a garage on the Wirral that can remove my locking wheel nut.

As the thing is stuck solid an snapped the locking key.
Had the RAC out and they couldn't remove it with the tools they have.

    Thanks

    Adam

Remeber there is a collar on the outside that will spin freely if you don't jam it against the inside section of the nut.

Sorry forgot to say it's those big standard crappy Vauxhall ones.
Tryed chiselling the collar but no real luck. Must be of a hardened steel or something as it's just mashing up chisels :-(

From experience it wont just come off and more damage can be done to the alloys than the nut itself.

    Yep, same here.

I took mine to a local engineers who just welded something onto the nuts and removed them that way.

The RAC removed mine without any problems. Your RAC man could not have had the proper tool, takes less than a couple of minutes

Heres the tool being used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFXfEhTi8VU

That's the tool he used but the locking nut is on super tight it just didn't budge he chewd up 3 or 4 of the bits trying.

Am talking before the key broke av got a snap on high impact gun. With a bolt break away of about 700 lb ft an that didn't even budge it :'(
