You might need to do the flywheel at the same time

yeah I've heard this... Not the best of designs this model never changed a clutch in a car for the last 20 yrs of driving and the car has only done 10000 miles NOT GOOD !!

your best bet would be to ring round a few transmission/clutch specialists rather than an ordinary garage... they will get you the best price.

My DMF is starting to go at 100,000 miles so I'm asking around a few places at the moment. The first quote I have got is circa £1,100 from Mr Clutch in Nottingham. They didn't give me a firm price as they reckon it's not ready for doing just yet.

As above, the clutch and flywheel have to be replaced and I think so do some other things I'm not so familiar with - like the slave cylinder

The car isn't worth the cost of the work doing to it this is the problem its a tough choice to make scrap bit by bit and buy new or pay 1000 for clutch ????

I know what you mean. I suppose it's worth it if the car looks like it will last for a good while (and you'll want to keep it for a while) if you have the clutch done - you probably won't want to stomach any more large bills and you'll want to get your money's worth out of the new clutch yourself.

well that's one way of looking at it and your probably rite, but you would think the price of the parts would be some Wat cheaper as its such a common fault and poor design after all its not the drivers fault yet it just devalues a car that drives and looks so well !! Plus my heater has packed up and my CD player haha no luck !!
