Default My thought's on six weeks of owning my VXR estate...

I thought i would post my thoughts as i have had my VXR for just over six weeks now, I came into the world of VXR's via owning a very modified Signum and having the use of my wife's Insignia. As both were diesels owning and enjoying the 2.8 came as a very nice surprize.

I had some resavations about getting an estate as i had had the Signum that uses the same floor plan and as that one was an elite model it suffered badly from body roll until i fitted the Irmscher shocks and springs but i can safely say it was nothing to worry about as the Vectra handles very well indeed, Even with the sports button turned off it's pretty good!

My Signum was no slow motor as it was a re-mapped 3.0 CDTi but of course the VXR just blows it away performance wise, On the miles per gallon issue the Signum would do about 36-38 MPG where as the VXR does between 24-26 MPG. But boy the smiles per mile are increased ten fold!!!

There are some plus points and some minus in my case, A plus being the CD70 Nav which i find quite good and the bluetooth is great! It's just a shame that i'm so used to TomTom and of course the CD70 plans in a very different style.
The biggest minus is the lack of AFL headlights, These were fitted to my signum and that in turn made them a must on my wifes Insignia. One day i will find out if the AFL's can be retro fitted.

The size of the boot compaired to the Signum is of course greater and the little flex organiser bits fitted on the side of the boot is a handy addition.

Another minus is the lack of any kind of spare wheel and no jack ect...

But another plus is the sight and light pack with auto lights.

Overall i'm very happy i made this purchase while at the same time as missing my Signum i am so pleased i got a car well worth looking after and plan to keep it for a few years yet...
