Particulate Filter Problem again

My 09 CDTI 160 keeps bleeping and i keep getting the warning coming up Particulate Filter is full, in which i think it is hiding another fault somewhere.

This is the 3rd time this has come up in 4 months and only in the last 1700 miles.

Its been to VX had a service and they found a problem with the swirl valve which was replaced under warranty but the particulate filter warning is still coming on, i have attempted the regen several times but to no avail.

Any ideas what i should do before i take it back to vx yet again.

Ask Vx to remove it as it is giving you problems. They probably won't, in order to keep the Nanny State happy.

what type of driving you doing Phil? short distance?

A mixture matey, long trips to Stoke on Trent and several trips to Lakeside and Dartford and then the short 10 miles each way to / from work now and again.

But 1700 miles isnt very good for a problem is it?

All ok here thanks Phil, what year car is it.. Maybe a faulty inlet manifold/EGR causing too much soot to go into the DPF.. although it should measure it and then regen accordingly....

When you say the light has come on what light are you talking about? It was a flashing glowplug light but this was later turned off on ECU updates because too many customers were taking it into the dealers thinking there was a problem.... also when you say you've attempted regen several times how are you doing this?

Also you can only do a max of 2 forced regen's before you may need to change the oil... As each regen seriously kills the quality of the oil with fuel being dumped into it. Also a forced regen isnt a complete answer, it just gets it down to a lower level and tells the car to do a standard regen at the next oppurtunity

The big red warning screen in between Speedo and Rev Counter, just wondering if its something to do with the swirl valve replacement they done when i had the same warning and engine oil change and a service required all came up then as well, i have never had the little regen light in the speedo come on to say its doing a regen

Driving it above 2k for miles and miles as per manual

Its an 09 2.0 CDTI 160

hope you get it sorted as I have had no end of issues with mine!! Although they did not start until 90k!! 1700 miles is dissappointing isn't it. I ended up drilling a hole through mine although I would not have done it on an 09 plate insignia!!!

Well it will be going back to vx and then i may look to get rid of it as i thought having a newish car wouldnt give me all these probs, wish i had kept my 55 plate CDTI SRI now.
