    Default P2279 code. 1.9 150

    Just done a few hundred miles in the vec, dropped me girlfriend of at stansted. Car was switched of for 5 Min's, when i got back in and drove of, the EML light came on and went into limp mode. I switched it of and restarted and power back, but not for long. Kept doing this all the way home, but went back into limp mode.
    Iv just plugged it in and the code is P2279 Intake air system leak detected? Tried it for a few miles and no codes after clearing.
    It does seem a little under power though under 2000rpm then lifts of like a scalded cat, with a bit of soot.
    Any body come across this before, if so what was it. Thanks Alan

    No DPF and the EGR was deleted when the remap was done.

    I will check the pipes, but would have thought that it would be permanent limp? No hissing noise

    Have you blanked the valve off? It may be jammed open slightly.

    The egr is blanked off Gazza.

    That's what mine does. Restarting a warm engine. My remapped explained that it's impossible to fully delete EGR operation, so at a certain temperature (I think it's when inlet temp is above 50 degree due to heat soak from radiator) the ecu requests the EGR to open, and when it doesn't open it puts a fault up.

    Mines remapped, with EGR and DPF delete as well as a blanking plate on the bottom of the EGR valve. I run a Scangauge, and watch the inlet temp so can see when the temp goes above 50 and the fault light appears. It's easy then to check the code and reset it while still driving.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one that this happens with.
