Gsi ,vx calling

hi all,got an `04 3.2 gsi ,which broke down on the way to work ,felt like a 2 cylinder misfire,the aa picked me up and pulled codes p0300,p0301 and p0302......random misfire,misfire on 1,misfire on 2......changed plugs coil packs for new,checked for vacume leaks and fueling....injectors all good and sensors good.local garage sorted that.....could it be the ecu is spiked and unable to shift codes,as i drove for a while with engine light on ........any ideas ?

Why didn't the local garage clear the codes or at least tell you what they were and whats causing them?

they checked the engine out ,cleared codes but they returned ,so they deemed ecu was at fault,i did send ecu to ECU Testing but test was inconclusive,very frustrating.
