Default 2004 Vectra 2.2 direct SRI

I am hoping someone can help my brother. His car will start and idle but dies when he tries to rev it up. He has changed all the sensors, pressure regulators etc but to no avail. He has had the car checked for error codes and they show then clear, show again and then clear again. The tech guy seemed baffled. Could this be down to a broken cable, faulty ecu? Your help would be appreciated

Will it drive at low revs, then when you put it under load or get to 2500rpm+ is starts running into trouble?

Have spoken with him this morning and the only way to get it started is to disconnect the fuel pressure regulator then put it back on. It will rev up but dies under load. He has changed the regulator and pump as well as the egr valve as well as other sensors etc. It's the irregular ecu faults that is confusing his electrical guy.

Is the new pump made by Continental or Siemans?
