Default Grooved discs/red stuff pads.....god damn noise

I understood i would get some noise from them being grooved but this is a constant ticking like somethings catching? is this normal? its unbearable at 30 to 40 i have only done 50miles so far could this just be where they need to wear in?

There is a plate behind the disc at the bottom. It sits very close to the disc (sometimes too close) Bending it back slightly may cure it

I had this on mine as well once.. I levered it away with a flat blade screwdriver and sorted it. Shame i did not do it before stripping down the brakes to look for stones or uneven pads etc
