    Default Parking sensors

    Hi all,
I`m new to this forum, just found it last night, so sorry if I`m asking the same question again.
Has any fitted the electromagnetic parking sensor kit? These are supposed to be better than the ultrasonic kits at detecting all objects and dont detect towbars. They also look simple to fit with no drilling required to the bumper, the kit fits behind the bumper and works through it.
I am also about to fit a towbar and I have the Vauxhall electrics pack. Is this plug and play or does the CAN-BUS network have to br reprogrammed for this to work correctly - the parts guy at Vauxhall wasnt too sure about this.

    Regards

    Ian

Hello and welcome.the main difference is e/m sensors only work once the vehicle is moving,if ultrasonics are placed properly the towbar won't affect them.Try looking at STEELMATES web site, there stuff is good.

    Brocks,

thanks for that. I will have a good read at it today. Tried vauxhall for a price for fitting their sensors and have been quoted £335 fully fitted. But apparently fully fitted by vauxhall does not include painting. They wanted another £40 to paint them. Not bad I thought considering the size of the sensors.

I didn`t know about the electromagnetic system, after the wife reversed into a crash barrier I decided to fit sensors but don`t like the idea of drilling the bumper and the numberplate one cannot fit in the recess as it is the exact size of a numberplate. I did a search and found This one the taurus. Anyone have it fitted as it seems like a damage free way of fitting sensors and no unsightly sensors ....
