    Question Changing calipers

How difficult is it to change the front calipers? I'm looking at upgrading the brakes to the bigger GSi ones, so presume i'll need to vist the local breakers first....

You'll need calipers, caliper carriers and the 314mm disc's from a GSi..then use the old flexibles but fit new washers to the banjo bolts on the end of the flexibles as you bolt them into the caliper..

LMF do a conversion kit..look in the approved trader section for a link to them..

clamp off the flexis half way up their length before you start to remove them. That way, when it comes to bleeding them afterwards, it is a very simple 5 minute job as opposed to a lengthy one bleeding the whole system. Once you are finishedthe job and ready to bleed, have your assistant in the car apply pressure to the pedal, once the pressure is applied, then open the bleed nipple. That will immediately force the air out as opposed to letting it creep back up the pipe towards the master cylinder should you open the bleed nipple without pressurising the system. Are you with me? then just one or two pumps of the pedal will do it for each side. HTH

Now, them's VERY nice. I saw your post a little while back after you'd just fitted them. If you don't mind me asking, how much and where from?
