    confused bad petrol leak

too the car to the garage on wednesday, gotta major leak, see attched pic - (no10) leak from this pipe spraying everywhere when engine/ignition in on,

now i have been told the pipe has had it, and needs to be replaced, but apparently it needs to be replaced right back to the fuel tank! that cant be right can it??????

anyone have any diagrams of the fuel flow on a 2.0t?

If it's the pipe that has the fuel depressurising valve on it (right under the label 10 in the picture), then it's part number 24428271, should be about £75. I can't tell from the EPC diagram how long it is, but it's described as "pipe assembly, fuel feed, front", so it's unlikely that it goes to the fuel tank.

just picked car up, £150 lighter + about £40 in lost petrol! just seems an unusual part to go! had a look to see how far back it has been replaced. but it goes hidden behind bodywork, so not sure! only had car 6 days! so gunna try claim money back from the 3month warrenty.

just a guess have you got any klunking on hard acceleration or braking ? im thinking engine mount gone and its causing flexing and making the pipe split

there has been a slight knocking sound when stood still.... sounds a bit like a pump pumping.... then goes off... but nothing on acceleratin or braking....
