    Default LED Fog Light Help..

Ok so I bought some LED sidelights and LED foglights from the same company on Ebay, I've read about this CANBUS error people get so I made sure I got some error free ones

The LED sidelights work fine, they do the usual 30 second flashy thing when I turn em off but apart from that they are fine

Ive just changed the foglights for my LED ones (same brand as the sidelights) but they just refuse to work, my onboard computer just says there is a problem with them, and I get nothing...

Is there something blatantly obvious that I have missed? or do they just not work

My other theory i was going to try was to wire the original foglights to the LED ones...was going to make a female to male spade splitter cable, put the LED ones where they should be, and then just tuck the original foglights out of the way..

Im no electrician but I think that would work?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Im not sure but think somebody on here said that you need to change the wires round. So the one that is loose needs to be but where the solid one goes or something like that.

The foglights only have one connection on them anyway, I think it just uses the casing of the fog light holder as the earth

I think what im probably going to do is wire them from the sidelights or something...or maybe I just bought dud foglights!

You can try to put a 50w resistor (shown in the picture) across the positive and negative wire of the foglights. This will bypass the CANBUS error but what I'm not sure is whether the LED will do the usual 30 seconds flashy when you turn the foglights off.

Yeah using a resistor isnt a bad idea, but dont the foglights just have a positive power cable on them and use the casing of the fog light unit as an earth...?

My foglight has a positive & negative wires.
I'm 100% sure because in the past I have tapped the LED strip wires to the foglight's + & - wires.
