Default 05 Elite Climate control issue

    Hi,
I have a climate control issue, the fans don't kick in at any setting or speed, I looked over the forum and checked the drainage hole, pollen filter, fan also moves fine and all fuses.....

I'm now at a loss I have no idea what to check next, it was all working fine till last night I parked up switched residual air con on and came back to the car 15 mins later zero fans.

It's just typical the summer comes and air con is dead, I use it all year round if that makes a difference

    Thanks
    Graham

Nothing works? not even the demist on the front screen?

You could try removing the unit or disconnecting the battery for an hour to try to reset it.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Nothing at all,

What I found last night was a sheered wire going to the big black thing behind the glovebox, so I reconnected that.

It now just clicks for a few seconds when you open unlock the car and that's it

p.s. your right FWD does suck

    Thanks
    Graham

The clicking noise when unlocking is a symptom encountered when the resistor blows in the fan/AC module. Simple fix and may even be in the How 2 section (look in the thread that lists them all to see). That'd be the first thing I'd look at.

I will have a look at that thanks.

I did read that it was a problem for straight AC and would not fix CC.

    Thanks

Ah right, wasn't aware that the resistor issue was only an AC issue and not CC. If that's the case then not sure then as the clicking noise you describe is exactly what happens with the resistor issue.

There wasn't any clicking before I reconnected the wire that had snapped

In the attached pic I have marked where the wire snapped.

Once I put it back together with the ignition off I thought I was going to die cause of the loud clicking sounded like I was about to be killed

    Update

I have a mate at Vauxhall (lucky for me), he took the whole unit apart and removed the Air Conditioning Regulator he followed the removal with flapping hell, lucky you didn't have a fire, the water has got into the part and burnt it really bad.

He has said to replace the whole unit the big black fan as well the one with Valeo on it.

What do you guys think, he said from main stealer £630 although the day I get stuff done by a main stealer is the same day

    Thanks
