Side airbag removal help

Morning folks!

Does anybody know how to remove the drivers seat airbag unit?

One of mine has gone off, and I need to get the old one out,

Remove back panel this simply pulls down and out then lean on rear springs on seat to reveal side airbag iirc there's 3 or 4 small 7mm nuts holding it in once it's out there's a locking tab on top just lift the tab up to release

Make sure you disconnect battery before doing it tho


Since airbag has been deployed you might need to get airbag ECU reset or you may have to buy a new one to get airbag light off.

Just a quick question...

The back panel we are referring to is the panel with the pocket in?

Also, I know the upper part of the seat bends forward because of the active headrest thing. Is it a case of simply putting my fingers between the back panel and the upper part of the seat and giving a sharp tug downwards?

Should just pull out iirc pull it from bottom

ive pulled and pulled to the point at which my fingers are going through the fabric...

I'll give it another go..
