Default Front Chrome V : Confused slightly with what's underneath

    Hello all

I am in the process of sanding down for painting my Chrome V from the front bumber.

I have had to cover up some large holes on the top of the grille with gafer tape after i removed it but what confusd me was the opel moulding underneath.

Is this normal ? I suspect this is not the original item as when I took off the front bumper the first time it had my REG written on it in pen on the inside ....

Its growing on me but the V will go back on once I have finished the sanding and primer preping then off to a paint shop for spraying.

    Thanks

Thats normal, Im sure that all grilles have the same opel blitz on them, the VXR grille on my old car has the same, as did the factory grille I took off, thats why there's a black backing behind the griffin badge to stop you from seeing the opel blitz

It's normal mate - all of them including the VXR use the Opel grill then put the VX badge and chrome part over the top of it. Saves on making 2 different grills...

    Hi Kellsy84

Yep had to take the front off, but once off it was pretty easy to remove the V.

You just have to work out what clips onto what. I then got out all my flat head screw driver bits and wedged them in slowly and carfully into the lugs then started to easy it out again slowly and gently.
I was suprised how easy it was to get off as I have read some horror stories on here about breaking clips. I just took my time (around 15 mins) easing it out.

Would a rear shot of my V help you with what clips to attack ?

EDIT : m111kan i was thinking the same but the V will go back on as im about half way through this project now.

"go advanced" button, then "manage attachments" -> browse folders-> upolad.

You also have option "preview post" which gives you possibility to see if right pics has been uploaded and their position
