Default The famous Vauxhall Vectra review by Jeremy Clarkson in 1995.

This is the famous Top Gear review aired in 1995 that supposedly damaged the Vectra's initial sales and Vauxhall was so upset by Clarkson's review, they actually complained to the BBC saying that they could tolerate criticism, but his review was totally unbalanced.

Most of his reviews are totally unbalanced, just to inject some drama. It's usually "this car is so horrible I don't want to drive it", or "this car is rubbish at most things, why would anyone buy one, BUT the engine sounds fantastic and that's good enough for me", yada yada. You'd have to be a complete moron to buy or not buy a car based on a Clarkson recommendation.

Surely that's a B not a C? Made a meal out of not wanting to be bothered, didn't he.

What I never understood is if Vauxhall are as dull and as bad as he says, why is nearly every car you see on the road a griffin? Maybe that's why Vauxhall shrug their shoulders. Just a smug git who tells people to buy Fords, well here is my opinion of Fords - pants, and to me when I think of them I always hark back to the days when the wouldn't start on cold wet mornings. Funnily enough most of the Vauxhalls in our street seemed to start no problem on the same cold morning. Can't be that bad.

Ford have changed to be fair but I don't like them, although the Focus ST is good looking, don't take to the RS though.

Then there is the fact that the ST220 is a more executive car than Aston Martin DB9 because the DB9 outsold it - Does any one know why a DB9 would out-sell a Mondeo ST220? Is is perhaps because the ST220 isn't as good? (Despite the £100,000+ price difference Clarkson seems to class these to cars the same) Clown. All my humble opinion though.
