i bhave a 03 signam 2.0 dti starts ok cold starts ok hot but that bit in the middle is a problem. if i go on a short trip then let the car stand ,it is very hard to start,when it does start iget alot of white smoke,anyone know the fault

Sounds the same as my old Dti check out my threads there's loads of posts and there's a video if it's the same as mine a new battery and starter cured it .

i have fitted new battery still the same fult
Would help telling us what the bad starting problem is or if you have explained this before in another thread maybe you should of posted there instead of making a new thread ?

If battery didn't solve problem it's a process of elimination now eg: Starter, leak off pipes, glow plugs, GP relay, crank shaft sensor

If (like mine) it starts fine from cold, better in fact, then surely that rules the glowplugs & relay out? Leak offs next, then the starter as they're not that expensive either;

Although a while ago bigmac did mention it's bit of a pig to actually change, that's why I've not done mine yet lol.
