Default 655 miles to a tank full

i filled the veccy 150 with tesco diesel with 7 miles of fuel left in the tank, it held £78 prob over filled it a little,at 137.9 litre and got 655 miles to the tank full ,with 7 miles left i thought thats pretty good going for a large car ,thats keeping it within the speed limit but i do at least 10 miles across lincoln city 4 times a week ,is that about average ?i get at least another 60 miles to a tank after having the egr , swirl and inlet manifold changed

That's what i get now on an average tank with mixed town driving and a roads but on a run on the motorway up and down the country if I drive her very carefully with all my mods and remap I can get 710 miles on a tank that's the most I've squeezed doing 62mph most the way with cruise control on the m1

Wow, thats good, my 120bhp will only get 550 from a tank and thats 80% motorway with cruise control locked on at 67mph. 20% minor roads at 30mph, sometimes in traffic.

I did do manchester to London last weekend, again cruising at 67mph. The car read 56.6mpg.

I think mine might not be that good because its an estate therefore has a DPF.

I get 500 or slightly above miles per tank from my 1.8 petrol but can't get beyond 38.1 mpg no matter how careful I drive.

Much better than my previous car (vec b) which only managed 400 max on a full tank

Those are pretty similar figures to me, and like you I wonder if it is the DPF. I reckon it does a regen every tankfull (or possibly 3 regens every 2 tanks) and that seems to be the only reason for the low-ish figure.

Its welle mintained, and all the injectors are good (did a leak off test recently) - I cant see any other reason for it.
