Depends on what you want. If you want grip I suggest you look at Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric. Fantastic tyre in the wet! Lasted me 20k on my 3.0CDTI, I do a lot of motorway miles though...
If you want longevity turn to Michelins. PS2 or PS3 for a bit of sportiness or Primacy HP for best wear rate.

Falken ZIEX ZE-912 are also supposed to be good offering a balance between grip and price.

If you have 17inch wheels go for 225/45R17 as they are a LOT cheaper than standard 215/50R17

Can highly recommend Uniroyal Rainsport2's (225/45/17 - dunno what size your tyres are)

    Best tyres I've ever had.

I have got Falken 452's on my 19" Snowflakes. They seem to be doing the job very nicely.

But, considering the amount of recommendations for Neutron 5000's thats what ill probably go for next.

and the Neuton NT5000 215/50 17 is cheaper than the 225/45 and will give around 2.6% better economy due to rolling radius in comparison as well.
