Question anyone know what this is?

was just giving the engine bay a good clean up and noticed this pipe with the casing coming away from it, looks like it is going to the turbo but has a metal pipe inside so i assume it won't be causing any power loss or anything? its the 1.9cdti 120 engine, here's a couple of pics of the pipe in question.....

If linked to the Turbo it may well be the oil return pipe hard to say unless you get a pick of the other end

Is it not the pipe from the exhaust manifold that supplies to the EGR valve? It's fitted with a loose fitting braided canvassy sort of cover to stop things from melting if they touch it.

It just sits loose around the EGR pipe. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, but the pipe that feeds it comes from the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine.

ahh that makes sense so it's ok to just leave it as it is then? if not then how hard is it to reattach?
