Default Problems with Side Light SMD /Led

    Hello all

Today I replaced my Mtec 501 side lights for these http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/501-err...ite-p-497.html

I expected the flashing for around 10-14 seconds when locking the car or just turning off the side lights but when the car is running and the lights are off the side lights constantly flash.

Now I could drive all day with the side lights on but I would rather not, just use them when I need to.

Have I somehow done something wrong when fitting them or have I just picked the wrong items, or could they be faulty in some way.

    Any advice would be good.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the info Lizard

I don't fancy re wiring so I think I will live with them for the moment.

I must admit they are very bright, much more that the Mtec 501's.

I may swap them back to the Mtec's if it becomes a problem. I will wait and see.

    Thanks again

Aye no problem there. I will just run with them on for the moment.

But the more I think about it I may swap them back soon.

Got my HID kit and sidelight led's from HIDs Direct.
I ordered MTech 501's, but was told to have the ones they sent. They flash for a while after plipping to unlock the doors and after plipping to lock, but stop after a few minutes. Recently though, I have 'Check front left sidelight bulb' (or whatever it says) message and error on the dash lights up, so need to get me some error free leds.
OK, so not alot of money, but it's still money wasted.

Moral - don't always believe what HIDs Direct tell ya!

I went out tonight when it was dark and man do the side lights look good. Extremely bright but.....

The flashing when driving (with side lights off) bothers me. What if i forget to turn the side lights on and head out onto the wonderfull M25 or just pop out for some items at the corner shop and look like a approaching Disco.

Im going to drop the front again tomorrow and replace them with the Mtec 501's.

Its a real shame as these LED's do make a difference and I love the look of them but I'm sure it will cause me grief when I forget to turn them on.

Ah well bang goes a tenner or so. Lesson learned I spose

Just tell 'em your fancy after-market car alarm must be playing up. I did!
