    Default Clay day!

Woo Hoo My better half allowed me to stay home and have a day with my mistress, so here is the rundown on my day.

    1. Hose off the loose debris, then pressure rinse the whole car.
    2. Wash the two bucket method the entire car and blade off.

(this I felt a better start than going rallying through a farm or three and going for the "roughage" look)

    3. Here we go a half bar of Meguiers quik clay gray. Please note this is useless for sticking posters to walls as that would be blutak, not clay, and far too small for making into a bowl or vase of any kind for the wife, so probably best use it as intended then

I made up my usual QD mix of a 500ml warm water and a small cap of car shampoo. and off I set. I worked in sections at a time starting with the roof in roughly 1/6th sections the roof had some oxidation from the harsh winter but was in good shape overall.

I worked my way round the car on the panels that needed least attention and had least contamination first as this was the last of my clay, so roof, rear flat hatch surface, bonnet, rear vertical hatch face.

Until I was on the doors and lower panels that were very heavily contaminated with tar and other general crap.

Finally the entire car was done after about 2 hours and looked a bit like this.

The clay however looked like this, EEuugghhh!!!

So now the paint was bare of all polish and wax and it was time to wash her off a second time that day, so after another two bucket was (honestly my neighbours must think I am nuts!!)

Once I towel dried the naked paint I set about a coat of
    1. Chemical Guys Cherry wet wax
    2. AG's SRP
    3. AG's UDS
    4. Autosmart Carnauba Gold

Once that lot was on I used a new plush Microfibre and buffed up the final finish, so here are some final shots

    An Arty side shot

The obligatory scary dude shot!!!! (please shield kids eyes from this one)

The other side, seems to be the mirror image of the first one but hey!

    The rear hatch surface

    The wide shot.

I have to say I had a brilliant time and it was such a worthwhile exercise as the car desperately need the clay to clear up the paint so from here I should have a much clearer regime for the summer to come.

    I thank you

Awesome finish mate, was a little worried when I saw the marring from the clay, but that is truly awesome.

Where did you get that massive bar of clay that could be mistaken for a classified drug?

It wasn't actually marring from the clay it was the residue from the shampoo I had used triplewax wash n wax I had spare and it went white as it was a 30ml in 500ml of water mix, a bit too strong me thinks now.

The clay shot was on zoom it wasn't really a half kilo of afghan charlie Bwahahahahaha
