    Default 2.2 cut out now wont start

    Hello all,

    never posted before so all new to me, i have a 2004 2.2 direct and was doing 50mph when the engine cut out and now refuses point blank to start.

    no fault codes shown in ecu and the engine management light never came on when it happened.

    been trawling through the posts but unable to find a solution, mr AA man told me that it looks like a fuel issue.......can anyone give me any ideas.

    high pressure fuel pump of fuel presurre regulator mate did you have the recall done on the regulator
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    nah was never aware of the recall until this happened calling vx on monday to see what they can do

    Can anyone tell me that if th HPFP has gone, would it still contain fuel?? its just that I tried the pressure release and a bit of fuel cam out.

    recently had an update from vx dealer, they have replaced the pressure regulator but still a non starter, now charging me £87 for tech2.

    service desk did state that its either the HPFP or a timing issue, wont find out now till after easter.

    can anyone tell me if they should change the pump too, read somewhere that both wwere changed at the same time???
