Unhappy Inner Track Rod End. 2.0Dti

Folks, need some advice. I was given an advisory on my MOT, "play in track rod ends". Off I went with my Vectra C trade card, bought both left and right. Fitted them, got it tracked. Found out its the inner track rod that has the play. But by the look of the outer ends, they were shot.
How do I get the inner arms off and do I need any special tools ??
    Once again, thanks in advance.

    Hi cp
you have to remove the folding cover (bellows).when you remove tie rod end be sure to counterhold the rack on the side you are replacing or you will damage steering rack.tighten to 90Nm.
when you refit the folding covers you will need new clamps.
there is a tool for removing tie rod part No Km-6321,it's like a short open end spanner that fits on a socket extension.

    Default bellow clamps

I've just picked up the 2 track rods, but they came with the bellows and some mecatech clamps. How do I removed the existing clamps and how to I tightened the new clamps ?? Do I need to purchase special crimp tools ??
    Again, thanks in advance

you destroy old clamps cp,the clamps you have been supplied with do need a crimping plier, usuall practice is to fit a good quality cable tie as used in workshops, make sure you really tighten tie and cut off excess, make sure bellows are seated in the groove on steering gear.

I found the track rod removal a bit to daunting, so took the car to a local garage and they replaced the rods. Just to find the drivers side strut is leaking and theres still a bit of play on the front wheels.
    OH HAPPY DAYS
