    Heloooooo

As you prob are aware, I have bought BIG Petes old Vec
It has CD70 but no aux input. My Iphone is like my knob, it goes everywhere with me, how hard is it to fit the aux in

I am useless with electricals, so can you give me a Haynes rating in spanners??

Depends. If as I expect you have one of the older CD70's (07 was the transition) then its a PITA.

If you pull out the storage tray and aircon controls look for a 3 (think its 3) pin wire. If its there your in luck and just need a tech 2 session and a cable.

If its not thre you need major soldering etc and would probably be easiest just getting a hard wired modulator (see leeds vectras how 2)

According to the second link above..

Big Pete says that his CD70 already has the Aux-In fitted, but he never uses it as he has burnt a load of MP3 CD's....

There was a square looking stereo plug in the top right hand corner of the tray below the cd70, It's not in the car now though, I dont know how you used the aux in and I cannot remember seeing any options for it on the menu except for FM/AM/CD, Sat Nav, Phone and BC. I cannot add anymore than that as I never had a use for it..

I've seen similar sockets in our Zaffy and Meriva's though, is it just a case of plugging in a double ended 3.5mm lead? I know the RRS has one aswell, thats also got a usb input and a dedicated iphone lead and cradle in the armrest

you need to check if the jack plug is in the location as pete has mentioned and if not then you may find the harness behind the oddment tray so all you will need is the jack plug

Hmmm confusing - only way to tell, is to pull out the head-unit, and see if the three wires are there..

If not, then you don't have aux-in

My wife's Vectra doesn't have aux-in, and none of the smaller pins in the main quadlock connector are populated..
