Default 3.0 cdti juddering and noise when cold

hi i have looked through at the other related threads but they dont quite seam to match up to my problem
basicaly when the car is cold and i drive off it has a quite audible tappety metal rough sound, its had this since ive had it ( brought it with a warm engine, got a little bit done i think) and it judders around a bit under normal acceleration, between about 1.5k and 2k ish, it doesnt do it when putting my foot down hard( i think )
it has gotten a bit worse lately but i have started doing shorter journeys due to moving, so it isnt really getting chance to warm up any more.
it doesnt do any of this when it warms up and drives beautifully smooth and so quite you wouldnt know it was running.
its a late 2006 3.0 cdti with the z engine, my guess is either an injector, tappets, or possibly these scv things but thought it could aslo be turbo related, but thought id ask on here to get peoples imput, or possibly a good place around the east grinstead area to take it to get checked out
cheers any imput would be much appreciated

What is the service history like?
Have you bought a third party warranty?
    Do you have breakdown cover?

Given you can only hear the noise with the cold engine, and the cold engine performance is poor, I will stab a guess at the auxiliary belt pulley

I would suggest you find a local mechanic with experience of the Isuzu Z30DT engine

A blocked SCV should not happen on this engine, but I've already seen some reports
This can happen at any engine temperature, and it feels like the brakes are being applied between 1500 and 2500rpm, the turbo can be heard switching on-off-on-off-on-off continuously

A failed injector will normally give you lots of black smoke and the noise can be heard all the time

I therefore don't think it is SCV or injector, from what you have described

Smoke will be grey, and lots of it, and noise is only heard when the engine is under load from low revs. Sounds like a ticking bomb when you boot it from low revs ...at least mine did

How would a bad aux belt pulley affect engine performance?

Not the performance, the clue is in the noise
I suspect they are two different issues

Sounds like the car has missed a service, need confirmation of this
Equally, possibly the fuel filter not replaced as per specification (and our suggested revised schedule of 10K miles / 1 year)

Have you heard the noise of the main bearing failure in the fuel pump?
It can normally only be heard at low revs and with a cold engine

ok the service has been done every 10k the last being done by my ownership about 6k ago fuel filter was definatly replaced with this because i did it, i had the aux belt and tensioner replaced about 2k ago due to the belt failing and taking the tensioner with it,
the car now has 108 k on it
the cam belt was also done with tensioner and pullys about 8 k ago,
i was wondering if it could possibly be the actuater on the turbo not working propperly, but i guess also a lazy tappet might cause the noise and if the valve isnt opening properly also the judder,or am i just stabbing at the cheaper options?

As above, phone around and find someone with experience of the Z30DT
Don't mention what the problem is or might be, just the symptoms
Equally, try and be precise with them; when they occur, and when they don't

Prior to belt tensioner failure, did you notice any weird noises? Is the car quieter now with the new belt tensioner? Asking, because a mate said mine could be close to fail this noise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP8f6idrDBw
