Vectra c 1.8 problem need help asap thanks

hey i have a vectra c sri 1.8 its very slugish on take off it needs the air box mod defently but i dont know exctly how to do the airbox mod. i have removed the top half of the trumpet still makes no difference have i to drill the bottom of the airbox and fit a kandn panel filter or what excatly have i to do pictures would be much help thanks as tried looking in the how to but it just removed the top half of the trumpetr in the airbox thanks kev

You say its sluggish at take off? Was it ok before and just gone like this lately? The airbox mod does very little imo. I take it you just have a normal paper filter in there at the moment?

K&N panel filter for me and it smoothed the low revs out, other than that noticed very little, also they are re-usable too.

it was slugish jumpyish before done mod. and its the same problem that evry1 else on here has had with there car but just dont know how to describe it. i need pics of some1's box to see wat to do etc and wat other mods to do ie breather pipe thing and vxr intake pipe and kandn filter i dont know lol just want my vectra to run good

i found mine smoothed out the midrange dip, i'm running a standard but brand new filter in mine

When was it the last time it had good service? New plugs, air oil and fuel filters and a fresh change of oil can also help. I just changed my pattern part air filter to a genuine VX one and I can defiantly feel a difference, I also changed from Mobil1 to Magnatec and notice a huge difference in the smoothness of the engine.

never really had a problem wiv mine bein sluggish, ive done the airbox mod and a k&n filter, but never really felt the difference!! are u running BIG rims? this will slow acceleration a little

i just gave it a full service wat last week i need pictures to see wat i need to do to the box.is it just the trumpet bit you remove ? if so i have done that its and 02 plate the first of the new shape

its a bit jumpy on take of and in the gear change. no big rims 17's
